Micro Credit SUROVI extends small credit to the people living in national poverty line for their self-employment arrangement that generate income for their survival, allowing them to care for themselves and the members of their families and improve income, nutritional status and food intake, and enhance human, social and health development. The major activities of the program includes selection of beneficiaries, group (Samitee) formation, mobilization for savings, providing small loans to support small initiatives and poorest families are the direct beneficiaries from the project. SUROVI has been implementing micro finance program activities at Bagha and Baghmara upazila under Rajshahi District and Laxmipur Sadar under Laxmipur district in the reporting year of 2023. Spaced out from the above, SUROVI also organized issue-based awareness for the beneficiaries such as dowry, trafficking, HIV and AIDS, demerits of child marriage and child labour, drug addiction, family planning, child mortality, malnutrition, effect of climate change, safe motherhood, child care, importance of education etc. The organization intensively monitored the IGA to know the gradual progress of the business activities and to ensure profit from it. The program enhanced their income, make vision to livelihood development and add value in their family life. SUROVI is trying to take up the micro-credit program extensively as a means of poverty alleviation.
